Luminox Brand Story
In 1989, the famous Luminox watch brand was born. Derived from Latin (Lumi is latin for light while Nox is Latin for night), Luminox is driven by a commitment to offer cutting-edge luminescence, excellent quality and superb readability in its line of high-performance adventure and sports watches. The Luminox brand has developed it's very own illumination technology, referred to as the Luminox Light Technology (LLT). Like no other watch, Luminox watches offer unparalleled vision no matter the conditions. They claim that each watch can continuously glow for up to 25 years.
In 1992, the officer is charge of procurement for the US Navy SEALS, Nick North, worked together with Luminox founder Barry Cohen. They developed a Luminox watch specifically designed to withstand the demands of day-to-day operations of Navy SEAL operatives. Afterwards, more elite units contacted Luminox directly, including the US Coast Guard, New York City Police Department, Singapore Air Force and many other elite law enforcement groups.
Luminox began developing more watch collections, such as the Lockheed Martin SR-71 Blackbird Limited Edition timepiece, with affiliation from the US Air Force. Partnering with counter terrorism expert and undersea explorer Scott Cassell and survival expert Bear Grylls, Luminox have developed watches to withstand severe survival situations.
By 2008, Luminox had expanded to more than 50 countries globally and has become a truly global brand in developing extremely durable watches.

Luminox has introduced three main collections available to consumers. The Sea, Air and Land collections offer a wide range of styles, shapes, sizes, water resistant levels, colours and band materials to suit all.
Made with scratch-resistant crystals, tempered mineral glass and a double gasket stainless crown, the Navy SEAL range enables unrivalled water resistance levels and is able to withstand enormous pressures for diving. The Luminox Air Series achieve a stealthy look through a combination of CARBONOX and an angled bi-directional turning bezel. In addition, the Air series combines Super-LumiNova with the Luminox Light Technology (LLT), which guarantees ultimate night vision for up to 25 years, thanks to the watches use of tritium tubes.
The Luminox Land Series are more suitable for the everyday user, combining style and sophistication with reliability with a portable timepiece. A fantastic collection suitable for the field, the office or the boardroom.
